I was involved in an auto accident on 01/01/17. I had no idea how much the concussion and post concussion syndrome could impact my eyes, vision, balance, and coordination. My life changed drastically as a result of poor balance, inability to gauge where I was in space, etc…. I could no longer do simple things that I’ve always done with ease. I couldn’t walk up and down steps without a hand rail, exercise or do anything with backward movements – amusement parks became part of the past. Dr. Ho and her exercises have helped me regain my life. It’s not easy or short process, but it works!

After not driving for the past two years, Hannah passes the vanderbilt driving test to drive again! Life is a series of tiny miracles…notice them. We are noticing this one day. We want to send a huge thank you to Dr. Jamie Ho Ho Vision Group for working on her magic on Hannah to gain some peripheral vision back so she can pass the test. what she has done with Hannah has been amazing, we are forever grateful. My friend Tj Fletcher reminded me of a quote that is so true in this case – “When man says there is no way, God says WATCH ME”.

I had been dealing with balance and unstable issues for several years. It was felt my problems were due to a fall and not vertigo related. After having seen a number of physicians who were unable to help me I was referred by a neurologist to Dr. Jamie Ho. I have now completed my therapy with great improvements and now able to function in my every day life after not being able to for several years. I would highly recommend Dr. Jamie Ho to anyone having balance related issues.

If you have a vision loss that threatens your driving privileges, start working with Dr. Ho as soon as possible, and spend as much time as you possibly can working on her practice exercises at home. Doing the homework is imperative: Dr. Ho can accomplish great things for you, but only if you practice a whole lot at home.In 2018 I experienced a minor stroke that took out my right peripheral visual field, a condition called hemianopsia. My VUMC neurologist told me not to drive until I had been cleared by a Certified Driving Rehabilitation Therapist. I enrolled with Dr. Ho as soon as possible and converted my living/dining room into a vision practice lab. I stopped doing everything except my part time job, household essentials, and practiced vision therapy. I did this for most of a year. After 6-8 months of intensive work with Dr. Ho plus on the road driving therapy elsewhere, I was successful in retaining my driver’s license. Work hard. If there is a solution, Dr. Ho will find it for you, but only if you work hard at it.

Thanks to Dr. Jamie Ho and her incredible knowledge, understanding, and compassion, I no longer have migraine headaches, dizziness, and imbalance that I did before vision therapy. Prior to seeing Dr. Ho, I had several weeks of vestibular therapy with very little improvement. After that and over the next several months, I went to a number of specialists and through many tests and scans trying to find the cause of my symptoms. All along, it felt like something was going on with the left side of my head and eye. So we began a vision therapy program and as I improved, I progressed to more difficult exercises. Within just 6 months, my symptoms subsided and I graduated from vision therapy. Today I am more confident, and my focus has improved greatly now that my eyes and brain are working together again. This experience has changed my life and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Ho and her kind and compassionate staff. Many Blessings.

May 30, 2019 I had a brain bleed. I was flown from my hometown in Kentucky to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville TN. It affected my short term memory, eye sight (double vision), and balance. The headaches were the worst. I spent a week and 2 days in Neuro ICU. Then 13 days in patient rehabilitation. After leaving Skyline, I started outpatient rehab and the occupational therapist suggested I should go see Dr. Ho. First visit was on July 5. After 3 hours of testing, she said she could get me some glasses that would help with my vision and suggested a weighted collar to help with balance and feeling grounded. Then she did light therapy that helped with the headaches. My physical, speech, and occupational therapy started going much better. I graduated from those and returned to work on October 4, 2019. I truly believed that without seeing Dr. Ho that I would still be in therapy.
