Our practice was closed last week as our practice team headed to SECO in Atlanta, Georgia to train, learn about new innovations and technology in the eyecare field, and meet fellow colleagues in this wonderful profession. We also got a chance to visit the world-class Atlanta Aquarium and see a whale shark. We also were lucky to meet former Olympic Champion Laurie Hernandez who shared her experience with contact lenses wear, perseverance, and dancing with the stars! Check out her interview at SECO.
Fun facts learned by our staff:
Ecchymosis is the medical term for bruising of tissues around the eye, or commonly known as, black eye.
Dry eye is part of a large spectrum of conditions known as ocular surface disease. For more on Dry Eyes, check out our previous blog. Ironically, this is a condition where patients are commonly treated artificial tears to reduce their presenting symptoms of epiphoria, or tearing.
Dr. Ho presented her interactive multimedia poster on “Prism Application for Strabismus, Brain Injury, & Low Vision.” Prism is just a tool for those who are aware of all the wonderful optical properties it possesses, but Dr. Ho uses it in many ways to offer her patients unique and personalized solutions for their visual problems. For a powerpoint copy of the poster, please click here.
We spent countless hours in classes learning everything from how to adjust frames, telephone triage, to tips on delivering exceptional customer service. We look forward to bringing fresh new ideas to the practice throughout this upcoming year. If you have additional feedback on how we are doing and how to improve, please let us know.
“Patients are not interruptions to your work, they ARE your work.” We are proud to continue serving our patients and providing innovative vision care solutions.
