What are prism glasses?
When we hear the word prism, most people probably think of the triangular reflective glass that disperses white light into a spectrum of color. In the optometric world, prism is used in a slightly different manner that has astounding effects on the patients that use it.
Prism is an extraordinary tool that is utilized primarily for shifting our visual field into a more correct position that aligns with how viewed images actually appear. Prism glasses may be especially helpful for people who may suffer from double vision. Without the prism lens, patients may be viewing the world from a doubled or shifted gaze. Prism glasses can also be used to shift space so that vision processing can happen more easily.
Like most things in life, we want to be sure that we are utilizing our resources properly to enhance our lives but that becomes an issue if our visual perception of the resource is altered because of our eyes. Before working at Ho Vision Group, I was unaware of prism glasses and the benefits it holds for patients. With novel tools such as this, we will be able to move throughout the world better and see the true beauty that it has to offer.
